The organization is working to enhance livelihoods in rural areas by providing training on agricultural practices, animal husbandry, and other livelihood options. This includes technical capacity-building, hands-on support, and insights into market systems. Through livelihood promotion and skill development, the organization aims to increase income from local employment along with this we also connect youth with new job opportunities in organized sectors.

Under livelihood promotion and skill development, the organization is undertaking the following activities:

GOAT BASED LIVELIHOOD DEVELOPMENT OF WOMEN FARMERS

Goat Rearing-Based Livelihood Promotion: Given the arid terrain and water scarcity in much of Rajasthan, goat rearing has become an effective livelihood option. Many farmers are adopting goat rearing as a primary income source by following commercial practices. The organization focuses on four aspects of goat rearing:

Primary Veterinary Care

Local women with basic education are trained as paravets to provide essential goat healthcare. They conduct vaccinations, deworming, and basic treatments. This reduces mortality, improves herd health, and empowers women as frontline caregivers, creating income opportunities and strengthening community-based veterinary support systems.

Management of Goat Rearing

Farmers are trained in pen hygiene, feeding schedules, and seasonal care. These practices improve goat productivity, reduce disease, and enhance growth rates. Structured management ensures healthier livestock, better returns, and helps farmers adopt scientific methods for long-term sustainability and income generation

Breed Improvement:

Awareness is raised about the benefits of improved goat breeds. Farmers are supported in accessing high-quality, locally available breeds. Better genetics lead to stronger, faster-growing goats with higher market value, helping communities shift from traditional rearing to more profitable livestock systems

Agriculture-Based Livelihood Promotion:

The organization works through farmer field schools to provide new agricultural techniques and regular guidance to farmers. This includes information on soil management, seed treatment, pest and weed control, crop production stages, and market systems. To demonstrate the impact of these techniques, a comparison is set up between two fields—one using traditional methods and the other modern techniques—to clearly show the difference to the farmers.

Effective MGNREGA Implementation

MGNREGA promises 100 days of rural employment, yet many residents miss out due to lack of awareness or administrative delays. The organization raises awareness, facilitates community mobilization, and collaborates with panchayats and local officials to ensure fair wages, timely job allocation, and transparent implementation for marginalized households.

Youth Skill Development Program

To steer youth away from hazardous or unstable jobs, the organization connects them to safer, income-generating opportunities. Through mentorship, skill training, and job placement, the program aligns individual interests with market demand. It ensures long-term career growth, financial stability, and dignity in employment for rural youth

Industry Mentor Model (UDDUG MITRA)

Youth interested in entrepreneurship are matched with experienced local mentors in relevant trades. These mentors, compensated by the organization, provide hands-on guidance, business insights, and skill development. Regular monitoring and support for bank loans and setup ensure that youth gain confidence and capacity to launch sustainable enterprises.

ON THE JOB TRAINING

For youth already engaged in informal work, the organization arranges on-the-job training to enhance their skills without disrupting employment. This practical approach improves productivity, increases earnings, and builds confidence. It allows youth to grow within their current field while gaining recognition and access to better opportunities

SKILL TRAINING

Youth are enrolled in skill development programs tailored to their interests, local job markets, and family situations. Training includes technical and soft skills, followed by placement assistance. A one-year follow-up ensures job retention, career progression, and long-term stability in formal employment sectors, empowering youth to thrive professionally.
